This week we have a friend staying with us. He is on a road trip which will take him on his way to New York. And what’s better than to take a hand-curated e-book of short stories with you!
Today we have two stories for you which have something to do with New York. The first one is The Tipster by Edwin Lefèvre. Born in Columbia, Lefèvre was a journalist turned stock broker who was born to an immigrant father and educated in the U.S. Best known for his bundle Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, Lefèvre published several novels and stories with money and finance as the subject.
The second story is the much more light-hearted; The Courtship of Susan Bell by Anthony Trollope. Set in Saratoga Springs, New York, this story revolves around 19-year-old Susan, the naïve daughter of a boarding house owner, who is set aflutter by the arrival of a handsome young lodger.
Hope you enjoy!
