Here is part two of the repackaged Detective bundle [see Part I here]. This time we have two stories for you from American and Canadian literature.
The Leak by Jacques Futrelle is a story about a leak in a financial institution which is costing the firm a substantial amount of money and with which master detective Professor August Van Dusen is tasked to uncover.
Futrelle was a turn of the 19th century American journalist and mystery writer who died during the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912.
The second is The Stolen White Elephant by Mark Twain, a tragic story published in 1882. This piece centers around a Siamese white elephant that disappears en route to Britain where it was to be presented to the queen, and the detective team that is tasked to find it.
I was also going to write an intro to Mark Twain here but does he really need one?
Hope you enjoy!
